According to him, Mexico’s attention is currently focused on hosting responsibilities associated with the FIFA World Cup, one of the largest sporting events in the world, which officially commenced on June 11 and is scheduled to continue through July 19.
Omokri explained that the processing of diplomatic approvals has been slower than expected due to the extraordinary demands placed on government institutions during the tournament.
He noted that the situation is not unique to his case, adding that other ambassadorial nominees awaiting clearance have experienced similar delays.
