The camp of former Anambra State Governor and 2027 presidential hopeful Peter Obi has disclosed its next line of action following the controversy surrounding the reported deregistration of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), insisting that the political movement remains focused on its long-term objectives.
Speaking on behalf of the former Labour Party presidential candidate, a spokesperson said the recent developments would not derail the group’s commitment to democratic participation and preparations for the 2027 general elections. According to the spokesperson, the camp is consulting with legal advisers and key political stakeholders to determine the most appropriate response to the situation.
The statement comes amid widespread debate over reports suggesting that the NDC had been affected by a recent court judgment. However, party officials have maintained that the judgment does not amount to a deregistration and have insisted that the party remains legally recognized.
