A political supporter, Ibrahim Abdulkarim, has stirred conversation online after posting a passionate message on X declaring that the “season” for a new Nigeria has arrived as preparations for the 2027 presidential election begin to gather momentum.
In the lengthy statement, Abdulkarim expressed strong confidence in Peter Obi, describing him as “a servant ready to lead with the fear of God, compassion, integrity, and character,” while insisting that the former Anambra governor represents Nigeria’s opportunity for national rebirth.
The post urged supporters of Obi to avoid political insults, religious division, and tribal sentiments, warning that opponents would attempt to manipulate Nigerians along ethnic and religious lines ahead of the next general election.
According to him, Obi’s supporters should instead focus on educating Nigerians “with patience and truth” while drawing attention to issues of governance, insecurity, corruption, and economic hardship under the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress.
Abdulkarim further called on Nigerians to engage citizens at every level of society — including traders, students, transport workers, religious leaders, and families — in conversations about leadership and national development.
He also praised Obi’s governance style, describing it as one centered on modest living, accountability, cutting the cost of government, and prioritising the welfare of ordinary Nigerians. Referencing Obi’s tenure in Anambra State, he argued that the former governor has already demonstrated the capacity to govern effectively.
The message concluded with a call for national unity beyond ethnic and religious identities, urging Nigerians to embrace “hope over despair, unity over division, and excellence over mediocrity.”
The statement ended with the popular slogan associated with Obi’s movement:
“A New Nigeria is POssible.”
