A chieftain of the National Democratic Coalition (NDC), Eze, has alleged that key party figures failed to support the party’s candidate, Ossai, during the recent Enugu North bye-election, a development he claims contributed to the party’s poor performance at the polls.
Speaking on the outcome of the election, Eze expressed disappointment over what he described as a lack of commitment from some influential members of the party. According to him, several stakeholders who were expected to mobilize support for the NDC candidate were either inactive or absent during critical stages of the campaign.
The party leader specifically alleged that certain prominent figures, including Ohaa and others, did not provide the level of backing necessary to strengthen the party’s chances in the highly contested election. He argued that greater unity and coordination could have improved the party’s performance and increased voter support.
