Popular Nigerian social media personality and self-styled financial expert, Emmanuel Obruste, better known as Geh Geh, has sparked fresh conversations online after gifting a female fan a car to help her start an Uber business in Abuja.
The gesture has attracted attention because it came only weeks after Geh Geh advised men against making major financial investments in women, including opening businesses for them.
According to reports, the woman, who is originally from Delta State but resides in Abuja, contacted Geh Geh several months ago seeking assistance. She reportedly told him that she needed a car to operate an Uber business.
Geh Geh said he promised to help her when he returned to Abuja. After arriving in the Federal Capital Territory, he contacted her and fulfilled the promise by presenting her with the vehicle.
“So this car I wan take am do gift for you,” Geh Geh said while presenting the car to the woman.
The development has renewed discussions about Geh Geh’s views on relationships, financial independence and generosity. In July, he advised men against paying for a woman’s education, stressing themselves financially for a partner or opening a business for her.
“Don’t train a woman in school. Don’t stress yourself for a woman. Don’t open a business for a woman,” he said during an appearance on the Before Tomorrow Comes podcast.
However, the latest gift was reportedly made to a female fan who had approached him for assistance, rather than to a romantic partner.
The car could provide the recipient with an opportunity to generate income through Uber and potentially improve her financial independence.
