Nigerian comedian and content creator Carter Efe has revealed how Afrobeats superstar Davido helped him record the biggest financial gain of his streaming career.
Carter Efe made the disclosure while discussing his journey as a livestreamer and his relationship with Davido. According to the entertainer, the singer’s appearance on one of his livestreams dramatically increased his audience and earnings.
Reflecting on the experience, Carter said Davido’s participation transformed his fortunes within a single night.
“Davido made me the biggest money of my life on a stream in one night. I became a big boy overnight,” he said.
The content creator’s comments highlight the growing financial influence of celebrity collaborations within Nigeria’s livestreaming industry. Established entertainers can attract large audiences to creators’ platforms, potentially increasing subscriptions, donations, engagement and other revenue opportunities.
Davido’s impact on Carter Efe’s streaming career was particularly evident during their December 2025 Twitch livestream. The session reportedly attracted more than 80,000 concurrent viewers and helped Carter gain more than 139,000 followers in a single night. He also reportedly surpassed 20,000 subscribers following the broadcast.
Carter used the experience to contrast Davido’s willingness to share his platform with what he described as the reluctance of some successful people to create opportunities for others.
