Nollywood actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele has reunited with her former husband, Abdulrasheed Bello, popularly known as JJC Skillz, during a family holiday in Paris, France.
The former couple were spotted spending time together with their twin sons as they explored parts of the French capital. Videos shared on Snapchat showed the family visiting a shopping centre and enjoying leisure activities together.
In one of the clips shared by JJC Skillz, the family appeared to be enjoying a relaxed outing. He captioned the video, “Family time.” In another moment, he asked Akindele, “Mama Ibeji, are we playing games?” to which she responded, “Yess ooo.”
The former couple were also reportedly seen at the Eiffel Tower, while another video showed Akindele and JJC Skillz with their children at a PlayStation section of what appeared to be a shopping mall. The twins’ faces were not shown publicly, consistent with the couple’s long-standing approach to protecting their privacy.
The Paris outing has attracted considerable attention from fans, particularly because of the pair’s history and their decision to maintain a close family relationship after ending their marriage.
Akindele and JJC Skillz married in 2016 and welcomed their twin boys in 2018. In June 2022, JJC Skillz announced that their marriage had ended, citing “irreconcilable differences.”
Despite their separation, the former couple have continued to maintain a relationship focused on raising their children. They have also appeared together publicly since their split, including at the premiere of their film She Must Be Obeyed in Lagos in 2023.
The latest reunion has fuelled speculation among some fans about a possible reconciliation. However, neither Akindele nor JJC Skillz has indicated that their Paris trip represents a revival of their marriage.
The family holiday instead highlights their continued commitment to spending quality time with their children despite their changed relationship status. It also offers a reminder that separation does not necessarily prevent former couples from maintaining a cooperative family relationship.
For now, the Paris trip appears to be centred on family bonding, while both entertainers continue with their respective careers in Nigeria’s entertainment industry.
