BREAKING NEWS: Reverend Ezekiel Dachomo Calls on Donald Trump to Deploy U.S. Military to Plateau Amid Killings

A Christian cleric, Reverend Ezekiel Dachomo, has called on former United States President Donald Trump to urgently authorize the deployment of American military forces and surveillance drones to Plateau State, as violence continues to claim lives across the region.
In a strongly worded appeal, Dachomo urged the U.S. to intervene decisively to “save innocent lives,” citing what he described as the inability of Nigerian security forces to halt the ongoing bloodshed. The cleric’s statement comes amid reports that over 150 persons have been killed in recent mob attacks across parts of the state, particularly around Jos.
Dachomo expressed deep frustration over what he sees as the failure of authorities to provide adequate protection for vulnerable communities. He alleged that in some instances, security personnel were present but did not take sufficient action to prevent attacks—claims that have further fueled public outrage and concern.
His call for foreign military intervention marks a significant escalation in rhetoric, highlighting the growing desperation among affected populations. However, the proposal has sparked debate over Nigeria’s sovereignty and the broader implications of inviting external forces into a domestic security crisis.
Meanwhile, the federal government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress has yet to officially respond to Dachomo’s appeal. Security agencies have also not issued a formal statement addressing the cleric’s allegations at the time of this report.
Analysts warn that while the call underscores the severity of the crisis, any form of foreign military involvement would require complex diplomatic, legal, and strategic considerations.
As the situation unfolds, attention remains fixed on both the immediate need to stop the killings and the broader questions surrounding Nigeria’s security response and governance.
