Wike Credits Tinubu’s Backing for Ongoing Infrastructure Transformation in Abuja

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has attributed the rapid pace of infrastructure development in Abuja to the strong support and commitment of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

Speaking during the inauguration and inspection of key projects across the Federal Capital Territory, Wike said the ongoing transformation of Abuja would not have been possible without the backing of President Tinubu. He noted that the President’s commitment to improving infrastructure and public services has enabled the FCT Administration to execute several long-awaited projects.

According to the minister, road construction, urban renewal initiatives, and public facility upgrades currently underway are part of a broader effort to modernize the nation’s capital and improve the quality of life for residents.

Wike emphasized that the Federal Government has provided the necessary financial and administrative support needed to accelerate development projects. He stated that many of the initiatives being completed had remained stalled for years before receiving renewed attention under the current administration.

The minister highlighted several completed and ongoing projects, including road networks, bridges, and community development schemes designed to enhance connectivity and stimulate economic activities within the capital city.

He also commended President Tinubu for prioritizing infrastructure as a key driver of national development, arguing that improved transportation systems and public facilities are essential for attracting investment and creating jobs.

Political analysts say the FCT has witnessed increased construction activity in recent months, with several projects either completed or nearing completion. Supporters of the administration view the developments as evidence of the government’s commitment to delivering visible results.

Residents have welcomed some of the improvements but continue to call for greater attention to housing, transportation, water supply, healthcare, and security challenges affecting communities across Abuja.

As more projects are scheduled for commissioning, Wike reiterated that the FCT Administration remains focused on delivering sustainable infrastructure that will support long-term growth and position Abuja as a modern capital city.
