Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) will emerge victorious in the 2027 presidential election.
Speaking during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Keyamo said he believes the ruling party has built significant support among Nigerians through the policies and achievements of the current administration.
The minister dismissed the possibility of opposition parties defeating Tinubu at the polls, specifically mentioning Peter Obi of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) and Atiku Abubakar of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as candidates whose chances he questioned.
Keyamo argued that his prediction was based on what he described as political and demographic realities rather than personal confidence or arrogance.
He stated that the 2027 election would favour the APC, describing the expected outcome as a “coronation” rather than a closely contested race.
The minister also questioned the voting strength of opposition candidates, particularly asking where Peter Obi would secure enough support to challenge the ruling party.
Keyamo’s remarks have sparked reactions within political circles, with supporters of the APC highlighting the government’s achievements, while opposition supporters continue to argue that the election outcome will be determined by voters.
