Akpabio Teases Wike, Praises FCT Infrastructure Projects

Senate President Godswill Akpabio shared a light-hearted moment with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, during the inauguration of infrastructure projects in Abuja, joking that the minister had “learnt from him” and should “take it easy.”

Akpabio made the remark while commending Wike for the pace of development across the Federal Capital Territory. The Senate President praised the ongoing road construction, urban renewal initiatives, and other infrastructure projects being executed under the FCT Administration, describing them as evidence of a commitment to improving the nation’s capital.

According to Akpabio, Wike’s drive to complete major projects has earned him public recognition. In a humorous exchange that drew laughter from guests at the event, the Senate President suggested that the FCT minister had adopted some of his style of governance while serving as governor, urging him not to overwork himself.

Wike, in his remarks, reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to delivering projects that improve the lives of residents and enhance Abuja’s status as Nigeria’s capital city. He said the FCT Administration would continue to prioritize infrastructure, urban development, and public service delivery.

The event was attended by senior government officials, lawmakers, traditional rulers, and other dignitaries, who commended the pace of ongoing development in the territory.
