*TRIBUTE TO MR. MIKE OKAKA*
It is with profound sadness and a deep sense of loss that we, the *Coalition for the Protection of Democracy (COPDEM)* and *Diaspora Digital Media (DDM)*, extend our heartfelt condolences on the passing of one of our Founders, Trustee, and Director, Mr. Mike Okaka—a man whose life was marked by courage, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to justice and national progress.
Mr. Okaka was far more than a passionate Nigerian patriot and activist. He was a beacon of hope at a time when hope often seemed elusive. He stood firmly on the side of truth, giving voice to the voiceless and strength to the vulnerable. As a human rights advocate, he confronted injustice with remarkable courage. As a philanthropist, he gave generously and selflessly, touching countless lives and leaving a lasting impact on communities both at home and abroad.
To say that he died fighting for a new and better Nigeria is to acknowledge a legacy built on sacrifice, service, and conviction. He believed wholeheartedly in a nation founded on justice, accountability, and equal opportunity for all, and he devoted his time, resources, and energy to advancing that vision. Such dedication is rare, and its loss is deeply felt.
Although his passing leaves an immense void, his legacy remains a guiding light. His principles, courage, and steadfast belief in a just and democratic society will continue to inspire generations of Nigerians to carry forward the struggle for a better future.
Mr. Mike Okaka’s funeral will take place in *Michigan, United States of America, on 7th and 8th August 2026.*
We pray that Almighty God grants his soul eternal rest and comforts his family, friends, colleagues, the Obidient Movement, and all those whose lives were touched by his extraordinary kindness, leadership, and service.
While we mourn his departure, we also celebrate a life well lived—a life dedicated to humanity, justice, and the pursuit of a better Nigeria.
Rest in peace, Mr. Mike Okaka. Your legacy endures, and your fight lives on.
Signed
