Nollywood actress and filmmaker Ruth Kadiri has addressed growing speculation surrounding her marriage, insisting that she has never deliberately kept her husband away from the public.
Kadiri made the clarification during a recent episode of the Dear Ife podcast, where she discussed her personal life and the perception created by her husband’s limited presence in the media.
The actress explained that although her husband, Mr Ezerika, is not a familiar face among entertainment followers, his relative anonymity should not be interpreted as an attempt to hide him.
“People keep saying I am hiding my husband, but for clarity, my husband is not a secret,” Kadiri said.
According to the actress, she and her husband regularly attend events and other outings together. She added that people who know her personally are also familiar with her husband, even though he does not attract the same level of public attention as she does.
“My husband is someone that we literally go almost everywhere together, and they post his pictures. It is just that people don’t know him,” she explained.
Kadiri’s comments are significant because celebrities often face public scrutiny over their relationships, particularly when their partners maintain a low profile. In her case, the actress appears to be drawing a distinction between privacy and secrecy.
Rather than intentionally concealing her marriage, Kadiri suggested that her husband’s lack of celebrity status is the main reason many members of the public do not recognise him.
The actress married Mr Ezerika in a private ceremony in November 2018. The couple later welcomed their first daughter in August 2019 and their second daughter in July 2022.
