PromiseLand Innovations Limited has announced plans to officially launch its Nigerian-owned ride-hailing platform, ProTaxi, on October 1, 2026, while opening registration for a driver empowerment programme targeting 1,000 people in Abuja.
The company’s Chief Executive Officer, Ambassador Lawrence Oloche, announced the initiative as the platform prepares to enter Nigeria’s competitive e-hailing market. According to the company, the programme is designed to create income opportunities for residents who can drive and are interested in joining the platform.
Oloche said the opportunity is open to both men and women living in Abuja, including individuals who are not currently commercial drivers.
“ProTaxi will be empowering 1,000 families with a brand-new EV car on October 1, 2026,” he said, urging interested residents to register their interest.
The company’s registration process includes screening, verification and onboarding. It has also clarified that submitting an application does not automatically guarantee employment or approval as a ProTaxi driver. Shortlisted applicants may be contacted for further verification and interviews.
ProTaxi is positioning itself as a homegrown mobility platform focused on affordable transportation, technology and environmental sustainability. The company plans to promote the use of electric vehicles, which it says could help reduce operating costs for drivers and contribute to more competitive fares for passengers.
The platform will offer features including ride booking, multiple payment options, digital receipts, driver verification, real-time trip tracking, ratings and reviews. Drivers will also have the flexibility to choose their working schedules.
The October 1 launch will mark PromiseLand Innovations’ expansion into Nigeria’s technology-driven transportation sector. The company, which also has interests in real estate, says its broader objective is to combine technology, economic opportunities and cleaner transportation solutions.
ProTaxi’s entry comes as transportation and vehicle operating costs remain important concerns for Nigerian commuters and drivers, increasing interest in alternative mobility models and locally developed technology platforms.
