Orezi Draws the Line, Threatens to End Friendships Over Lindsay Clancy Case

Nigerian singer Esegine Allen, popularly known as Orezi, has threatened to end his friendships with anyone who expresses support for American woman Lindsay Clancy, whose case over the deaths of her three children has generated intense public debate.

Orezi made his position known in a post on his Instagram page while reacting to differing opinions surrounding the high-profile case. The singer said he would not accept any form of support for Clancy from his friends, regardless of how they interpreted the circumstances surrounding the deaths.

“If you are my friend and I see that you support Lindsay Clancy in any type of way, no matter what angle you decide to judge her situation from, consider our friendship over,” Orezi wrote.

He also questioned the reasoning of anyone who showed empathy towards Clancy and warned that disagreements over the matter could result in a serious confrontation.

“Your reasoning is impaired and I can’t deal with such,” the singer said, adding, “Na fight we go fight.”

Orezi’s comments have added a Nigerian celebrity voice to an international debate surrounding Clancy’s case. The controversy has involved questions about criminal responsibility, mental health and the circumstances surrounding the deaths of her three children.

The development is significant because Clancy’s case has attracted public attention beyond the United States, with social media users expressing sharply different views about her actions and mental health. Orezi’s comments reflect the strong emotions the case continues to generate.
