Obidient Movement Finance Director Resigns, Cites Poor Coordination

The Obidient Movement has been hit by internal cracks following the resignation of its Director of Finance, , who cited a lack of structure and poor coordination within the group.

Agada announced his resignation during a press conference in , where he also unveiled a new platform known as The Movement Nigeria, signalling a possible shift in the political coalition that backed during the 2023 presidential election.

The Obidient Movement emerged as a major youth-driven political force during the 2023 elections, drawing strength from the and widespread dissatisfaction with the political establishment. However, concerns have continued to trail its organisational structure and sustainability since the elections.

Speaking on his decision, Agada said his resignation was not driven by personal grievances but by operational lapses within the movement.

“I resigned my position about three days ago and communicated this to the leadership. The lack of structure does not align with my professional standards,” he said.

He added that he had not been informed of key meetings and activities in recent times, describing the situation as untenable for someone occupying such a strategic role.

On his next steps, Agada said The Movement Nigeria would not be built around any individual, distancing it from established political figures including and .

According to him, the new platform would operate on a collective funding model rather than relying on a single sponsor.

Reacting to the development, the National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement Worldwide, , said efforts were ongoing to restructure the movement.

Tanko noted that the group was transitioning to a more inclusive system and described the situation as part of broader political realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He added that he had not received any formal resignation letter from Agada but maintained that the movement remains united.

The development underscores emerging internal tensions within the Obidient Movement as political actors begin to reposition ahead of 2027.
