High Chief Basil Chudi Nwolisa has expressed profound gratitude to supporters, family members, party faithful, maritime stakeholders, and the people of Ozubulu following his emergence as the winner of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) primary election for the Apapa Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives.
In a heartfelt message issued after the primary election held on May 29, 2026, at Marine Road, Apapa, Nwolisa described his victory as a collective achievement made possible through the sacrifices, prayers, and unwavering support of numerous individuals and groups who believed in his vision for Apapa.
The successful candidate acknowledged the dedication of party members who mobilized support, defended the integrity of the electoral process, and worked tirelessly throughout the campaign period. He noted that their commitment demonstrated that loyalty, conviction, and grassroots participation remain vital pillars of democratic engagement.
Nwolisa also paid tribute to his family for their steadfast support during the challenging moments of the campaign, describing them as a source of strength and encouragement throughout the political journey.
Addressing stakeholders within Nigeria’s maritime sector, the Apapa federal constituency candidate emphasized the importance of the industry to the nation’s economy and pledged to advocate for solutions to the long-standing challenges confronting port operations and maritime business activities. He thanked industry colleagues for their confidence, advice, and support, promising to represent their interests effectively if elected into office.
The politician equally reserved special appreciation for the people of Ozubulu, whom he credited for shaping his values and providing spiritual and moral encouragement throughout the contest. According to him, their unwavering belief and support contributed significantly to the outcome of the primary election.
Reaffirming his commitment to the people of Apapa Federal Constituency, Nwolisa stated that his campaign and future legislative agenda would focus on job creation, justice, improved port administration, economic opportunities, and the overall welfare of residents, traders, transport operators, and businesses within the constituency.
He stressed that while the primary election had been won, the larger task of securing victory in the general election and delivering meaningful representation to the people remained ahead.

Nwolisa currently serves as President and Board Chairman of the National Compliance Joint Taskforce of Licensed Clearing Agents (NCJTFLCA) and is expected to represent the NDC in the forthcoming House of Representatives election for Apapa Federal Constituency.
