BUA Group has donated agricultural inputs valued at ₦108 million to 211 resettled farmers in Sokoto State as part of efforts to support food production, improve livelihoods, and strengthen post-conflict community recovery.
The intervention is aimed at helping farmers who have returned to their communities after displacement resume agricultural activities during the current farming season. The beneficiaries received a range of essential farm inputs intended to boost productivity and enhance crop yields.
According to the company, the initiative reflects its commitment to supporting Nigeria’s agricultural sector and contributing to national food security through strategic partnerships with local communities and relevant stakeholders.
The donation is expected to ease the financial burden on the resettled farmers by providing resources that would otherwise require significant capital investment, enabling them to return to farming more quickly.
Community leaders and beneficiaries welcomed the intervention, describing it as timely support that will help restore livelihoods disrupted by insecurity and displacement.
Agricultural experts note that access to quality farm inputs such as improved seeds, fertilizers, and other production materials is essential for increasing output, improving farmers’ incomes, and strengthening rural economies.
The programme also aligns with broader efforts by government and the private sector to encourage agricultural recovery in communities affected by conflict, while reducing dependence on humanitarian assistance through sustainable economic empowerment.
BUA reaffirmed its commitment to initiatives that promote inclusive economic growth, rural development, and long-term agricultural sustainability across Nigeria.
The donation highlights the growing role of the private sector in complementing public efforts to improve food security, enhance resilience among farming communities, and support national economic development.
