Former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi has said he is not desperate to become Nigeria’s president in 2027, maintaining that his interest in leadership is rooted in service rather than personal ambition.
Obi made the remarks while responding to questions about the next presidential election and the performance of President Bola Tinubu’s administration. He argued that the country’s leadership should prioritize addressing economic hardship, insecurity and poverty, rather than focusing on political calculations ahead of the 2027 general election.
