Nigerian rapper Tochukwu Gbubemi Ojogwu, popularly known as Odumodublvck, was involved in a tense confrontation with police officers following a performance at a Lagos club in the early hours of Saturday.
A video of the incident circulating online shows the rapper inside a vehicle while officers questioned him over an invitation he reportedly failed to honour. One officer asked whether he was resisting arrest and urged him to follow the police.
Odumodublvck, however, disputed the officers’ position, maintaining that his lawyers had already responded to the invitation.
“You do not have any jurisdiction. My lawyers attended to it. They came to your office,” the rapper said during the exchange.
He further insisted that he was not resisting arrest but argued that the police could not take him from the location because of a court process.
“I am not resisting an arrest. There is a motion ex parte that says you cannot arrest me. Why should I follow you? It is illegal,” he said.
The police officer reportedly responded that the force had not received the court document referenced by the musician.
The exact reason for the attempted arrest has not been publicly established. However, reports indicate that the incident may be connected to an ongoing dispute involving Odumodublvck and fellow rapper Blaqbonez.
The development has attracted attention because Odumodublvck has recently been involved in a series of public controversies, including his ongoing disagreement with Blaqbonez. In July, reports stated that Blaqbonez filed a N2.55 billion lawsuit against him over alleged defamation and harassment.
The latest incident also raises broader questions about the relationship between public figures and law enforcement, particularly where legal proceedings are already underway.
As of the time of reporting, there has been no detailed public explanation from the police regarding the attempted arrest or confirmation of the court order cited by Odumodublvck.
The matter remains subject to further clarification as both the legal dispute and the rapper’s wider feud continue to attract public attention.
