Tanzanian singer Juma Jux has broken his silence over an allegation that he fathered a child with another Tanzanian woman, firmly denying the claim and insisting that he never had an intimate relationship with her.
The controversy comes shortly after Juma Jux and his Nigerian wife, actress Priscilla Ojo Mkambala, celebrated the first birthday of their son, Rakeem. The singer said the allegation was not new but resurfaced after his name, family and business interests became involved.
According to Jux, he decided to address the matter publicly after contacting the woman identified as Musika to establish the basis of the allegation.
He claimed that Musika herself confirmed during their conversation that they had never been physically intimate and had not been romantically involved.
“Musika confirmed in her own words and voice that she had never been physically intimate with me nor had a romantic relationship with me,” Jux said.
The singer said the renewed allegation had become serious enough to warrant legal attention. He disclosed that the matter had been handed over to the relevant authorities and warned against the circulation of what he described as misleading information.
Jux also indicated that he intended to pursue the issue through legal channels rather than engage in an extended public confrontation.
“I have chosen calmness, truth and the appropriate legal steps,” he said.
The development has attracted attention because of Jux’s high-profile marriage to Priscilla Ojo, daughter of veteran Nigerian actress Iyabo Ojo. The couple’s relationship and wedding celebrations have remained subjects of significant interest among entertainment followers in Nigeria and Tanzania.
The paternity allegation has also generated discussions online, with some social media users calling for additional evidence to settle the matter.
However, the claim that Jux fathered the child has not been independently established, while the singer has categorically rejected it.
Juma Jux is one of Tanzania’s prominent contemporary musicians and has built a following across East Africa. His marriage to Priscilla Ojo has further expanded his visibility among Nigerian audiences.
For now, Jux says he intends to allow the appropriate legal process to address the allegation as he focuses on protecting his family and reputation.
