Nigerian dancer and entertainer Poco Lee, whose real name is Iweh Pascal Odinaka, is currently on remand in the United Kingdom as he faces criminal proceedings before a London court.
The Snaresbrook Crown Court has confirmed that Poco Lee is scheduled to appear on September 15, 2026, for a plea and trial preparation hearing. The court confirmed that the case is officially listed but has not disclosed the courtroom or precise time ahead of the hearing.
The development was also confirmed by Benjamin Kuti, popularly known as the Oluomo of Derby and founder of the Community of Nigerians in the United Kingdom. Kuti said Poco Lee was being held in a UK prison and that he planned to attend the proceedings to support him.
“I can confirm that the reports are true. Poco Lee is currently on remand in a UK prison,” Kuti said, urging the public to allow the legal process to take its course.
Recent court information has provided further details about the case. Snaresbrook Crown Court confirmed that Poco Lee has been charged with attempted rape, two counts of rape and two counts of assault by penetration. A reporting restriction is reportedly in place to protect the identity of the complainant.
The case has attracted significant attention in Nigeria because of Poco Lee’s profile in the entertainment industry. However, the allegations remain unproven, and he is presumed innocent unless and until a court determines otherwise.
His management has also urged the public to disregard unverified reports surrounding the proceedings. In particular, the team said claims involving alleged “drink spiking” do not form part of the allegations or charges before the UK court.
Poco Lee rose to prominence through Nigerian street dance and later expanded his career as a hypeman and entertainer. He has worked with leading artistes including Davido, Wizkid, Burna Boy, Zlatan Ibile and Tiwa Savage.
His September 15 court appearance is expected to provide further clarity as the UK legal process continues.
