The management and legal team of Nigerian dancer and entertainer Poco Lee have rejected reports linking alleged “drink spiking” to the legal proceedings involving the artiste in the United Kingdom.
Poco Lee, whose real name is Iweh Pascal Odinaka, has been the subject of widespread discussion online following reports about his ongoing UK court case. His representatives issued a statement on Tuesday, urging the public and media to rely on verified information rather than unconfirmed narratives.
The management specifically addressed claims that drink spiking was connected to the allegations before the court, saying such reports were inaccurate.
“We are particularly concerned by the volume of unverified narratives currently circulating, including claims referencing ‘drink spiking’… which do not form part of any of the allegations or charges before the court,” the team said.
The representatives also warned against adding details that are not contained in the actual court proceedings, saying such reports could fuel misinformation and unfairly prejudice those involved.
The team stressed that the case should be determined through the appropriate legal process rather than social media commentary.
“Allegations are not evidence of guilt, and no conclusions should be drawn until the matter has been heard and determined through the appropriate legal process,” the statement added.
The clarification is significant because the case has generated considerable attention across Nigerian social media, where unverified claims have continued to circulate. The management’s statement seeks to distinguish confirmed court information from speculation surrounding the matter.
Snaresbrook Crown Court has confirmed that Poco Lee is scheduled to appear on September 15, 2026, for plea and trial preparation in relation to an assault charge. The court has not indicated that the drink-spiking claims form part of the proceedings.
Poco Lee has not been convicted of any offence, and the allegations remain subject to determination by the UK courts.
The entertainer rose to prominence through dance, performance and collaborations with leading Nigerian artistes, becoming a recognised figure in the country’s entertainment industry.
As the case progresses, his management says further information will be communicated through official channels, while urging the public to respect due process and avoid speculation.
