Veteran Nollywood actor Richard Mofe-Damijo, widely known as RMD, has reflected on life at 65, saying he considers every year beyond his parents’ lifespan a gift.
Speaking on a recent edition of The Moraya Show, the screen icon said reaching the age of 65 has given him a renewed sense of appreciation, noting that neither of his parents lived to celebrate their 60th birthdays.
The actor described his current stage of life as one marked by gratitude and said he feels fortunate to be alive during a period of expanding opportunities, particularly with the rise of entrepreneurship and self-employment.
RMD also offered insight into how he maintains his youthful appearance and energetic lifestyle. According to him, healthy eating, regular physical exercise and a mindset that resists the limitations often associated with ageing have been central to his daily routine.
He explained that he deliberately refuses to let age influence the way he dresses or carries himself, adding that he enjoys maintaining a stylish appearance regardless of his age.
The veteran actor revealed that his fashion choices sometimes attract playful reactions from his eldest son, but said he has no plans to change his personal style.
With a career spanning several decades, RMD remains one of Nollywood’s most recognisable figures and continues to inspire conversations about ageing, wellness and longevity.
