Bashir El-Rufai, son of former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, has declared that he has no intention of forgiving the All Progressives Congress (APC), accusing the ruling party of mistreating his father.
Bashir made the remarks while reacting to the political developments surrounding his father, who has fallen out with the APC leadership after leaving the party and aligning with opposition forces ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a social media post, Bashir expressed his determination to remain opposed to the APC and suggested that he would seek political influence in the future to confront those he holds responsible for what he described as attacks against his family.
“I won’t ever forgive APC. I will get power to terrorise them,” Bashir reportedly said.
His comments have added another layer to the growing political dispute involving the El-Rufai family and the APC. The former Kaduna governor has increasingly distanced himself from the ruling party and has become associated with opposition efforts ahead of the 2027 election.
Bashir’s remarks also come amid wider disagreements within the El-Rufai family over political loyalties. His public statements have previously generated controversy, including clashes with his elder brother, Mohammed Bello El-Rufai, over political affiliations and other issues.
