“We’ve Lost Kano,” APC Insider Alleges Internal Sabotage Against Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Says Northern Ministers Are Missing in Action

Fresh concerns have emerged within the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a prominent party chieftain sounded a warning over what he described as deepening internal sabotage and weakening political momentum ahead of future electoral contests. The remarks, which have stirred debate across political circles, point to growing unease within the ruling party’s northern base.
In a candid assessment, the chieftain declared that the party may have already “lost” Kano—a key political stronghold—while attributing the situation to internal fractures and lack of coordinated support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He alleged that several ministers and governors within the party do not genuinely support the president, suggesting that loyalty gaps at the highest levels of government are undermining the administration’s political strength.
The source further claimed that despite the significant representation of northern politicians in the federal cabinet—with 27 out of 47 ministers reportedly from the region—there is little to no visible grassroots engagement or mobilization in support of the president. According to him, many of these appointees have remained politically inactive, failing to connect with constituents or defend the administration’s policies in their respective states.
Adding another layer to the internal tensions, the chieftain alleged that “political termites” within the system actively worked to block any potential rapprochement between President Tinubu and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the influential leader of the Kwankwasiyya Movement. The claim suggests that entrenched interests within the party may be prioritizing personal or factional gains over broader party unity and strategic alliances.
Observers note that such public expressions of discontent from within the ruling party highlight deeper structural and political challenges facing the APC. As Nigeria’s political landscape continues to evolve, internal cohesion, regional engagement, and effective communication of government policies are increasingly seen as critical factors that could shape the party’s electoral fortunes.
The development underscores a growing call for introspection within the APC, as party stakeholders weigh the risks of internal discord against the need for unity and strategic recalibration in a highly competitive political environment.
