Social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has reached a public reconciliation with cryptocurrency entrepreneur BLORD during a hearing at the Federal High Court in Abuja. The two had been embroiled in a legal battle over allegations that BLORD used VDM’s image on billboards and forged documents for a fictitious N500 million deal. BLORD previously spent 26 days in custody before being released on N20 million bail.
During the proceedings, Justice Binta Nyako recused herself from the case, expressing concerns about the influence of social media and potential malicious prosecution. The matter has been adjourned until May 19.
In a related development at the courthouse, activist Omoyele Sowore confronted former Attorney General Abubakar Malami in the corridor, taunting him over previous prosecutions. Malami is currently facing money laundering charges himself, adding a dramatic twist to the day’s events.
The developments highlight ongoing tensions at the intersection of activism, social media, and high-profile legal battles in Nigeria.
