VDM Leads Abuja Demonstration as Tinubu Must Go Protest Gains Momentum

A growing wave of public dissatisfaction took center stage in Abuja as social media activist and influencer Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), joined demonstrators calling for political and economic reforms under the banner of the “Tinubu Must Go” protest movement. The demonstration attracted significant attention from residents, civil society groups, and online observers, highlighting increasing concerns over the country’s economic challenges, rising cost of living, and governance issues.

Participants gathered in strategic locations across the Federal Capital Territory, carrying placards and chanting slogans that expressed frustration over inflation, unemployment, insecurity, and other socio-economic difficulties affecting Nigerians. VDM, who has become a prominent voice on social and political issues, addressed supporters during the protest, urging citizens to remain peaceful while demanding accountability and responsive leadership from government officials.

The protest forms part of a broader nationwide movement that has gained traction in recent months, fueled by public debates surrounding economic reforms, fuel subsidy removal, and the impact of government policies on ordinary citizens. Organizers insist that the demonstrations are intended to draw attention to the hardships faced by many Nigerians and to encourage meaningful dialogue between the government and the people.

Security personnel were deployed to monitor the gathering and maintain order, while authorities continued to emphasize the importance of lawful and peaceful demonstrations. Despite differing opinions regarding the protest’s objectives and methods, the event underscored the growing role of civic engagement and digital activism in shaping public discourse across the country.

As momentum continues to build, observers are closely watching how the government responds to the concerns raised by protesters and whether the movement will influence future policy discussions and political developments in Nigeria.
