Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck has criticised journalist and television presenter Rufai Oseni over an interview the broadcaster conducted with fellow rapper Blaqbonez amid their ongoing public dispute.
The controversy erupted after Blaqbonez appeared on Oseni’s Nevon HQ podcast, where he discussed the circumstances surrounding his fallout with Odumodublvck. Blaqbonez said the disagreement was connected to a woman they had both been involved with and also addressed allegations made against him.
Odumodublvck subsequently questioned Oseni’s handling of the interview, claiming that the journalist did not sufficiently challenge some of Blaqbonez’s responses.
In a social media post, the rapper wrote, “Maybe you were paid, I do not know,” while expressing dissatisfaction with what he described as Oseni’s failure to properly scrutinise his colleague’s answers. The allegation was presented by Odumodublvck without evidence, and there has been no indication that Oseni accepted the claim.
Odumodublvck also accused Blaqbonez of giving contradictory answers during the discussion and argued that several questions were not adequately answered.
The rapper’s criticism came shortly after Oseni invited him to appear on the programme to give his own account of the dispute. Rather than accepting the invitation, Odumodublvck also criticised the journalist over an error in the spelling of his stage name in the invitation.
Oseni responded by maintaining that he was willing to give the rapper an opportunity to exercise his right of reply.
“Dear Odumodublvck, I have given you a chance for your right of reply to the interview I had with Blaqbonez. As it is customary and ethical you take the right of reply. You are welcome anytime!” Oseni wrote.
The exchange has attracted considerable attention online, adding another layer to the highly publicised dispute between the two rappers.
The feud has also moved beyond social media, with reports that Blaqbonez has taken legal action over allegations made against him. Both artists have continued to present different accounts of the dispute, leaving the matter subject to ongoing public and legal scrutiny.
