Ejiroghene Broderick Ineneji, an aspirant for the Delta Central Senatorial District under the platform of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, has strongly advocated for massive youth employment and people-oriented governance as practical solutions to insecurity, poverty, and economic hardship in Nigeria.
Speaking while addressing supporters and members of the media, Ineneji described unemployment as one of the greatest threats confronting the nation, warning that the increasing number of idle youths poses serious dangers to national peace and stability.
According to him, “an idle mind is the devil’s workshop,” stressing that many social crimes, cult-related activities, kidnappings, armed robbery, cybercrime, and other forms of insecurity thrive because millions of young Nigerians lack meaningful opportunities and economic direction.
The senatorial aspirant maintained that good governance must go beyond political promises and focus on policies that directly improve the welfare of the people. He emphasized that a responsible government should prioritize job creation, quality education, vocational training, entrepreneurship support, and industrial development capable of empowering citizens and restoring hope among the younger generation.
Ineneji noted that governance should be measured by the impact it has on ordinary citizens, especially in rural communities where poverty, poor infrastructure, and neglect have continued to increase frustration among the people.
He further stated that governments at all levels must invest heavily in agriculture, technology, manufacturing, and small-scale businesses to create sustainable employment opportunities for youths across the country.
According to him, empowering young people economically would drastically reduce their vulnerability to political manipulation, criminal recruitment, and violent activities, while also strengthening national productivity and economic growth.
The Delta Central aspirant also called for transparent leadership, accountability in public service, and effective legislative representation that truly reflects the needs of the people. He assured constituents that if elected into the Senate, he would champion bills and policies aimed at improving employment opportunities, youth empowerment, security, education, and infrastructural development across Delta Central Senatorial District.
He reiterated that the future of Nigeria depends largely on leaders who are committed to justice, fairness, accountability, and people-centered governance, adding that sustainable peace can only be achieved when citizens are economically empowered and included in national development.
