Kebbi Politics: APC Welcomes Over 10,000 Defectors from ADC and PDP Ahead of 2027 Elections

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kebbi State has announced that more than 10,000 members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have joined the ruling party, strengthening its political base ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Party leaders disclosed the development during a political gathering in the state, describing the mass defection as a significant boost to the APC’s grassroots support. They attributed the influx of new members to confidence in the party’s leadership and its development agenda at both the state and federal levels.

According to APC officials, the defectors were received from various local government areas across Kebbi State. They assured the new members of equal opportunities within the party and urged them to work collectively toward ensuring the party’s success in future elections.

The APC leadership also expressed optimism that the growing membership would enhance its chances in the 2027 polls, emphasizing the importance of unity, discipline, and effective grassroots mobilization.

Some of the defectors reportedly cited internal disagreements within their former parties, as well as confidence in the APC’s policies and programmes, as reasons for their decision to switch political allegiance. However, neither the ADC nor the PDP had immediately issued official responses to the claims at the time of reporting.
