INEC Opens Nationwide Recruitment for Entry-Level Positions

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the commencement of its 2026 recruitment exercise, inviting qualified Nigerians to apply for various entry-level positions aimed at strengthening the Commission’s capacity ahead of future electoral activities.
According to the recruitment notice, vacancies are available across Grade Levels 07, 08, 09, 10, and 12. The positions include Professional Cadre roles such as Lawyers, Clinical Officers, IT Officers, Engineers, and Accountants, as well as Administrative Officer II (Registration Area Officer) and Executive Officer (Assistant Registration Area Officer).
INEC stated that the recruitment is designed to reinforce its institutional capacity in electoral administration, voter registration, data management, election logistics, and other critical operations necessary for the discharge of its constitutional mandate.
Applicants are required to possess qualifications appropriate to the position being sought, ranging from National Certificate in Education (NCE) to Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, alongside relevant professional certifications where applicable. Candidates must also present evidence of NYSC completion or exemption, demonstrate computer literacy, and possess strong communication and organizational skills.
The Commission further outlined general eligibility requirements, including Nigerian citizenship, a valid certificate of state of origin, medical fitness, good character, and an age limit of not more than 35 years at the time of application. Successful applicants must also be willing to serve in any part of the country.
INEC emphasized that applications must be submitted online through its recruitment portal. The Commission warned that the recruitment process is entirely free of charge and cautioned applicants against submitting multiple applications or false information, noting that such actions would lead to automatic disqualification and possible prosecution.
The application window opened on Monday, July 20, 2026, and will close on Monday, July 27, 2026. Only shortlisted candidates will be invited to participate in the next stage of the recruitment exercise.
