Federal Government Pays Tribute to Late Qatar Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani

The Federal Government of Nigeria has expressed deep sorrow over the death of the former Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, describing him as a visionary leader whose contributions to Qatar’s development and international diplomacy left a lasting global legacy.

In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Nigerian government extended its heartfelt condolences to the government and people of Qatar, as well as the Al Thani royal family, over the passing of the respected statesman. The statement noted that Sheikh Hamad played a pivotal role in transforming Qatar into one of the world’s leading economic and diplomatic powers.

Nigeria praised the late Emir’s commitment to peace, regional stability, and international cooperation, acknowledging his efforts in strengthening bilateral and multilateral relations across the Middle East, Africa, and beyond.
