A court has adjourned proceedings in the case involving Don Norman Obinna and six others against the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and six other defendants.
The matter, which came up for hearing on both the substantive suit and an interlocutory injunction, saw legal arguments from both sides regarding a request for adjournment.
Counsel representing the first and second defendants made an oral application seeking more time to allow the second and third defendants file their counter-affidavit. However, the request was opposed by counsel for the plaintiffs, who urged the court to proceed with the case.
Despite the objection, the court granted the adjournment, though it noted that the decision was made reluctantly in the interest of justice.
The case has now been adjourned to Monday, April 27, 2026, for continuation of proceedings.
