Burna Boy and Shakira’s ‘Dai Dai’ Extends Global Chart Dominance

Nigerian Afrobeats star Burna Boy and Colombian singer Shakira have continued their impressive run on the global music scene, with their hit collaboration “Dai Dai” retaining the No. 1 position on the Billboard Global 200 for a fifth consecutive week.

The song, which serves as the official anthem of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, also maintained its lead on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart, where it has now spent eight weeks at the summit.

According to data from Luminate, “Dai Dai” generated 44.1 million streams and sold 6,000 copies worldwide during the latest tracking period from August 7 to 13. Outside the United States, the track recorded 37.8 million streams and 4,000 sales.

The continued success comes nearly a month after the conclusion of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, suggesting that the song has maintained momentum beyond the tournament that initially propelled it to international prominence.

Shakira and Burna Boy performed the song during major World Cup events, including the tournament’s opening ceremony and the halftime show at the final. Those performances exposed the collaboration to a massive international audience.

The achievement represents another important milestone for Burna Boy, who has become one of Africa’s most recognised music exports. His collaboration with Shakira also demonstrates the growing influence of Afrobeats within mainstream global music.

“Dai Dai” continues to compete strongly against releases from major international artistes, including Ariana Grande and Ella Langley, on the Billboard Global 200.

Billboard’s global charts rank songs using streaming and sales data from territories around the world, providing a measure of international listening trends.

The sustained performance of “Dai Dai” highlights the lasting impact of the World Cup platform and further strengthens the global profile of both Burna Boy and Afrobeats.
