Nollywood actress Bimbo Adebayo has made a public move to end a prolonged disagreement with her colleague, Ibrahim Yekini, popularly known as Itele D Icon, saying she would rather pursue peace than continue holding on to past hurt.
Adebayo made the appeal in an emotional Instagram post on Monday, August 31, 2026, accompanied by throwback photographs of moments she shared with the actor. She revealed that the disagreement had resulted in almost a year of silence between them.
According to the actress, the period had been marked by hurt, pride and issues that were never resolved. However, she said she had reached a point where continuing the dispute no longer felt worthwhile.
“Some battles are not worth winning. Sometimes all your heart truly wants is PEACE,” Adebayo wrote.
She acknowledged Itele as her senior colleague, brother and friend while expressing regret for anything she might have said, done or how she may have reacted during the disagreement.
“If I have said anything, done anything or reacted in a way that hurt you, I’m sincerely sorry, pls forgive me,” she stated.
Adebayo also made it clear that her decision was personal and was not prompted by anyone. She explained that her heart was tired of the prolonged silence and that reflecting on the situation had made her realise that life was too short to remain trapped in unresolved conflict.
She subsequently appealed to her followers to pray for peace between her and Itele and encouraged them to tag the actor if they felt led to do so.
The reconciliation effort received a positive response from Itele, who described the incident as a misunderstanding and indicated that he had no lingering resentment.
“It’s all gone, my sister. It’s not that deep, it was just a misunderstanding. No hard feelings at all. Let’s leave it all in the past and move forward in peace,” he replied.
The exchange has attracted attention within the Nigerian entertainment industry, particularly because neither actor publicly disclosed the details of the disagreement. Their decision to seek peace instead highlights the challenges of maintaining professional and personal relationships in the public eye.
Itele, whose real name is Ibrahim Yekini, is an actor, filmmaker and producer known for his work in the Yoruba movie industry, while Adebayo has also established herself as an actress in the Nigerian film scene.
Their latest exchange suggests that, despite the unresolved details of their past disagreement, both parties are now willing to leave the matter behind and move forward.
