Fresh controversy has emerged within the opposition coalition as concerns are being raised over the alleged political affiliations of Segun Odunkunle, identified as the Osun State Coordinator of the Obi/Kwankwaso Movement.
According to claims circulating among coalition loyalists, Odunkunle was recently seen alongside Muka Eyiwumi Ray, a Senior Adviser to the Kwara State Governor, at an APC event organized in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid.
The development has sparked criticism from members of the emerging ADC coalition, with some insisting that individuals with alleged ties to the ruling APC should not be allowed to infiltrate or influence the opposition movement ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“This is Segun Odunkunle, the Osun State Coordinator of the Obi/Kwankwaso Movement with Muka Eyiwumi Ray recently at an APC event for Tinubu 2027. The true ADC coalition members and leaders must be mindful of such characters, as we shall expose all of them for who and what they truly are,” a source within the coalition stated.
The source further warned that the hasty appointment of movement leadership without proper scrutiny could create serious internal setbacks for the coalition.
According to the statement, any leadership structure that fails to embrace existing and enduring credible organizations like COPDEM may be a disaster waiting to happen, stressing that trusted grassroots political structures should not be ignored in the rush to form alliances ahead of 2027.
The allegation has fueled fresh debate over loyalty, internal sabotage, and the need for proper vetting of political actors joining the opposition alliance aimed at challenging President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027.
As coalition talks continue across different political blocs, party faithful are calling for vigilance to prevent what they describe as “moles” working to weaken the opposition from within.
