Senator Ned Nwoko has called on the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to reject what he described as “manufactured results” and protect the political mandate of the people of Delta North.
The senator made the appeal amid growing political tension and controversy surrounding recent party activities and alleged manipulation of outcomes within the district. Nwoko warned that any attempt to undermine the democratic will of party members and voters could damage the credibility of the APC in Delta State and weaken public trust in the electoral process.
In a strongly worded statement, the Delta North lawmaker urged party leaders at both the state and national levels to ensure fairness, transparency, and justice in handling disputes and electoral matters affecting the region.
According to him, the integrity of internal party democracy must be protected to prevent political instability and division among party faithful. He stressed that political processes should reflect the genuine wishes of party members rather than outcomes allegedly influenced by vested interests.
Nwoko maintained that the APC must stand firmly against manipulation and political interference capable of threatening the unity and growth of the party in Delta State. He noted that respecting due process and credible results remains essential to maintaining confidence among supporters ahead of future elections.
The senator further stated that Delta North voters deserve leadership chosen through transparent and democratic means, emphasizing that attempts to impose “manufactured results” would amount to a betrayal of the people’s mandate.
Political observers believe the development may be connected to ongoing power struggles and alignments ahead of future political contests in the state. The issue has reportedly generated reactions from party supporters and stakeholders across Delta North, with many calling for calm and adherence to democratic principles.
Nwoko also appealed to party members to remain peaceful and law-abiding while the issues are being addressed by the appropriate authorities. He warned against actions capable of escalating tensions or creating unnecessary conflict within the APC structure.
He reiterated his commitment to defending the interests of Delta North constituents and ensuring that their voices are not silenced through political manipulation. According to him, democracy can only thrive when electoral processes are transparent, credible, and free from external influence.
The senator added that party unity should not come at the expense of justice and fairness. He argued that true reconciliation within the APC can only be achieved through honesty, accountability, and respect for democratic values.
Stakeholders within the party have continued to express differing opinions over the allegations, with some calling for investigations into claims of irregularities and manipulation. Others have urged party leaders to act swiftly to avoid deepening divisions among members.
Political analysts say the controversy reflects broader concerns about internal democracy within political parties in Nigeria. They note that disputes over candidate selection, party leadership, and electoral outcomes have often contributed to instability and defections across major political parties.
As reactions continue to trail the senator’s remarks, attention is now focused on how the APC leadership will respond to the allegations and demands for transparency in Delta North.
Many supporters of the senator have praised his stance, describing it as a bold move aimed at defending democratic principles and protecting the interests of party members. However, critics argue that political disputes should be resolved internally through established party mechanisms.
Despite the controversy, Nwoko expressed optimism that the APC leadership would act responsibly and uphold justice in the interest of the party and the people of Delta North.
Observers believe the outcome of the situation could significantly influence political dynamics within Delta State as parties prepare for future elections and strategic political realignments.
