Former presidential candidate Peter Obi has urged the judiciary to allow peace and internal stability within the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), following his entry into the party.
Speaking amid ongoing legal disputes affecting the party’s structure, Obi emphasized that political actors should not be entangled in prolonged courtroom battles. He maintained that politicians are not lawyers and should not be forced to resolve internal party matters through litigation.
Obi made a passionate appeal to the judiciary to exercise restraint and create room for political processes to function without disruption. According to him, excessive legal interference risks destabilizing party operations and undermining democratic engagement.
He stressed the need for unity and smooth coordination within the NDC, noting that the party must be allowed to organize, grow, and position itself effectively without the burden of continuous court cases.
The former Anambra State governor reiterated that peace within the party is critical at this stage, calling on all stakeholders to prioritize dialogue and cooperation over conflict.
