A leading figure in the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has expressed appreciation to Nigerians for what he described as increasing nationwide support and confidence in the party, noting that such trust remains the driving force behind its growth.

In a statement, the party leader highlighted what he termed a “powerful convergence” within the NDC, pointing to the coming together of experienced political actors, grassroots influencers, and emerging leaders across the country under a single platform. He described the development as a significant step toward building a formidable political movement.

According to him, the NDC is being positioned as an ideological party with long-term stability, drawing comparisons with globally recognised political institutions such as the African National Congress in its prime and the Communist Party of China. He stressed that the goal is to establish a structure capable of enduring beyond its founders and remaining relevant for generations.
He further stated that the party places strong emphasis on youth and women inclusion, mentorship, and public service preparation, adding that its vision is to serve not only the elite but also ordinary and vulnerable Nigerians.
Providing historical context, the NDC leader disclosed that the party’s registration process dates back to 2017, when initial approval was granted before it was halted. He noted that the process was revisited and updated following the resumption of party registrations last year.
Addressing ongoing criticisms and speculations, he acknowledged that a project of such scale would naturally attract rumours, propaganda, and political attacks. He, however, urged Nigerians to disregard what he described as distractions and remain focused on the broader objective of national rebuilding.
He concluded with a call for citizens to join the party, register, participate actively in its processes, and contest elections, emphasizing collective responsibility in shaping the country’s future.
