Allegations Emerge Over N22bn NAMA Headquarters Contract Award

Abuja, March 3, 2026 – Allegations have surfaced regarding the award of a N22 billion contract for the construction of a new headquarters for the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), with claims circulating that the project was awarded to businessman Nasiru Danu.

The claims, which originated from an online post described as “exclusive,” allege that the contract was approved under the supervision of the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, SAN. The post further accuses the Federal Government of financial misconduct in relation to the project.

However, as of press time, there has been no official confirmation from the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development or from NAMA regarding the details of the contract award, the bidding process, or the identity of the contractor. No court ruling was cited in the post to substantiate the allegation that the businessman in question has been convicted of fraud.

Efforts to obtain clarification from relevant authorities were ongoing at the time of filing this report.

The controversy comes amid heightened public scrutiny of federal infrastructure contracts and ongoing anti-corruption efforts under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration. Analysts note that transparency in procurement processes and timely official responses are critical to addressing public concerns and maintaining confidence in government institutions.

Further developments are expected as stakeholders respond to the allegations.
