Nigerian dancer and hypeman Iweh Odinaka, popularly known as Poco Lee, has spoken publicly following his release from detention in the United Kingdom, maintaining his innocence over allegations of sexual offences.
Poco Lee made the remarks during a video call with social media activist VeryDarkMan, where he reflected on his experience in custody and the support he received while facing the allegations. He said he remained concerned about the people close to him during the period.
“I was being myself, God sees my heart, my only worries out there was my people,” Poco Lee said.
The entertainer also insisted that he would have accepted responsibility if he had committed the alleged offence, but maintained that he did nothing wrong.
“If I to say I do wetin person talk, I for say, Omo I dey suffer for my sins, but as I no do anything, my mind is as pure,” he said.
Poco Lee further expressed appreciation to Nigerian entertainers Burna Boy and Rahman Jago for standing by him during the difficult period. He said their support was significant because people could have chosen to distance themselves from the controversy.
In a lighter but pointed comment, the dancer warned men to be extremely cautious in their interactions with women, saying: “Use 18 hours fear women.”
The comments have attracted attention because they represent Poco Lee’s first detailed public reaction after weeks of detention and media reports surrounding the case.
The development is also significant because the legal matter has not simply disappeared from public discussion. Reports had indicated that Poco Lee was scheduled to appear before Snaresbrook Crown Court on September 15, although subsequent reports confirmed his release from custody.
Poco Lee, known for his dancing, hyping and entertainment collaborations, has built a strong following in Nigeria’s music and social-media space. His recent UK legal troubles have therefore attracted considerable attention among fans and the wider Nigerian entertainment industry.
