Former Big Brother Naija housemate Segun Olusemo, popularly known as Sheggz, has addressed speculation surrounding his split from fellow reality star Bella Okagbue, insisting that infidelity was not responsible for the end of their relationship.
Sheggz confirmed that the relationship ended in January 2026 after previously keeping details of their private life away from the public. He said he decided to speak out after what he described as attempts to damage his reputation and create a misleading impression about the circumstances surrounding the breakup.
“For clarity, I did not cheat on Bella, and I have been single since January 2026,” the reality star stated.
Sheggz also rejected allegations of abuse and described family, friendship, integrity and faith as important values to him. He said his decision to address the matter was not intended to provoke a public dispute but to clarify his position.
Explaining what led to the separation, Sheggz said the couple experienced unresolved problems involving trust and respect. He disclosed that they attempted to reconcile after their initial split but eventually concluded that the relationship could not progress towards marriage.
The reality star said he had genuinely hoped to marry Bella and revealed that he had purchased an engagement ring because he believed they had a future together.
Sheggz also recalled that 2025 was a difficult period for him, saying he spent considerable time in and out of hospital before travelling to England for treatment and recovery. He said that after returning to Nigeria in October, he became aware of information that caused him to question the honesty within the relationship.
The breakup has generated significant interest among BBNaija fans because Sheggz and Bella became one of the most prominent couples to emerge from the 2022 “Level Up” season.
Bella has since offered her own perspective on the separation, saying some versions of events circulating publicly do not reflect her experience.
With both personalities now speaking publicly, the breakup remains a subject of intense discussion, although their accounts represent their respective perspectives on the relationship.
