Afrobeats singer Davido has attracted attention online after missing the wedding ceremony of music executive Soso Soberekon, an event that brought together personalities from Nigeria’s entertainment industry.
Soso Soberekon celebrated his wedding last weekend in Warri, Delta State, but Davido was not among the guests present at the occasion. The singer also did not share a public message celebrating the couple on his social media pages.
Instead, Davido posted updates about his activities, including his visit to Dubai with members of his team and comments on political developments surrounding the Osun State governorship election.
The absence of the award-winning musician led to a wave of reactions from social media users, with some questioning why he did not attend the ceremony or send a public congratulatory message to Soberekon.
Some critics described the move as disappointing, highlighting the relationship between Davido and Soberekon over the years. Comedian DeeOne and Delta State government media aide Ossai Ovie Success were among those who publicly expressed their views on the matter.
DeeOne questioned why Davido could not show support for Soberekon, while Ossai Ovie Success stated that the music executive had played a supportive role in Davido’s career.
Meanwhile, some fans came to Davido’s defence, noting that the singer may have been unavailable due to personal, professional, or travel commitments.
