President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated the Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi, on his 63rd birthday, describing him as “one of my outstanding ministers” and commending his contributions to the administration’s infrastructure agenda.

In a birthday message, Tinubu praised Umahi’s dedication to public service, highlighting his commitment to the execution of major road and bridge projects across the country.

The President said the former Governor of Ebonyi State has demonstrated exceptional leadership, professionalism and a strong work ethic in overseeing critical infrastructure development under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

Tinubu noted that the Ministry of Works has continued to play a vital role in improving Nigeria’s transportation network, facilitating economic growth and enhancing connectivity between communities.

He also acknowledged Umahi’s experience in governance, describing his transition from state leadership to the federal cabinet as one that has brought valuable expertise to the implementation of national development projects.

The President expressed confidence in the minister’s ability to sustain the momentum of ongoing infrastructure initiatives, emphasizing that quality roads and modern transport systems remain essential to Nigeria’s economic transformation.

He prayed for Umahi’s continued good health, wisdom and strength as he continues to serve the nation.

Senator David Umahi served as Governor of Ebonyi State from 2015 to 2023 before his appointment as Minister of Works in the Tinubu administration.

As minister, he has supervised the implementation of several federal road projects, including major highways, bridges and other strategic transport infrastructure aimed at improving mobility and supporting economic activities.

Political observers note that Tinubu’s public commendation reflects the confidence the President has placed in Umahi’s stewardship of one of the government’s most significant ministries.

They also point out that infrastructure development remains a central pillar of the administration’s policy agenda, with ongoing investments intended to improve trade, reduce travel time and stimulate regional development.

The President’s tribute joins messages from political leaders, associates and supporters who have celebrated Umahi’s birthday while recognizing his contributions to governance and public administration.

Tinubu concluded by wishing the minister many more years of impactful service, expressing optimism that his experience and commitment would continue to support Nigeria’s development objectives.
