Former Big Brother Naija winner Hazel Oyeze Onou, popularly known as Whitemoney, has threatened legal action against Nollywood actor and social commentator Uche Maduagwu following remarks in which the actor described him as an “outcast.”
Whitemoney made the threat in an Instagram video while responding to a video posted by Maduagwu. The reality TV star expressed displeasure over the description and indicated that he was prepared to pursue the matter through legal channels.
The development has attracted attention online, adding another public dispute involving two Nigerian entertainment personalities to the growing list of celebrity controversies playing out on social media.
While responding to Maduagwu, Whitemoney warned that the actor could face legal consequences over statements he considered unacceptable. His comments suggest that he is considering a formal response rather than allowing the disagreement to remain solely a social-media exchange.
Maduagwu, known for his outspoken commentary on Nigerian celebrities, has frequently used his social media platforms to criticise or question the activities of public figures. His latest comments about Whitemoney have now triggered a direct response from the former BBNaija winner.
The dispute is significant because social media has increasingly become a major platform for Nigerian entertainers to express opinions, settle disagreements and respond to criticism. However, public statements about individuals can also create potential legal risks where claims are considered defamatory or damaging to reputation.
