The Village Boys Movement has officially announced a massive nationwide rally in support of Peter Obi, scheduled for 28th March 2026. The group claims that 2 million participants are expected to converge across key cities in Nigeria to demonstrate their solidarity with the former governor and presidential candidate.
According to the organizers, the march is intended to showcase the strength of grassroots support for Peter Obi and to energize youth participation ahead of upcoming political contests. The Village Boys Movement emphasized that the rally will be peaceful, coordinated, and widely participatory, highlighting the increasing influence of youth-led movements in shaping Nigeria’s political landscape.
Political analysts Mohammed Idris noted that such a large-scale mobilization, if realized, could send a strong message to other political actors and potentially impact strategies for party alignments and candidate endorsements ahead of the 2027 elections.
Meanwhile, security agencies are reportedly in consultations with the organizers to ensure orderly conduct during the event, given its projected nationwide scale. Residents in major cities are advised to expect traffic adjustments and heightened public safety measures on the day of the march.
