Human rights activist and former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has called for a broader investigation into the controversy surrounding the alleged Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC) following the arrest of the organisation’s alleged Director-General, Prince Matthew Adeniyi Adeyemi.
In a statement, Sowore argued that investigators should not limit their inquiries to a single individual if allegations have been made involving other public figures. He maintained that anyone whose name has surfaced in connection with the ongoing controversy should be invited for questioning where necessary and in accordance with the law.
Among those mentioned by Sowore was the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila. The activist insisted that investigators should objectively examine every claim and follow available evidence to establish the facts, rather than focusing solely on one suspect.
The PFIPC controversy has generated widespread public attention following allegations relating to the purported organisation’s operations, appointments, and financial activities. The Presidency has previously stated that the PFIPC is not a recognised government agency and has distanced the Federal Government from the entity.
Sowore stressed that public confidence in the justice system depends on transparent, impartial, and comprehensive investigations. He said all individuals connected to the allegations should be treated equally under the law, regardless of their status or political affiliation.
