A political analyst, , has said that cannot return to the position of vice-presidential candidate in any political arrangement ahead of the 2027 elections.
Udenta argued that Obi, who previously served as the vice-presidential candidate to Atiku Abubakar in the 2019 presidential election, has since established himself as a leading presidential figure and therefore cannot step down to play a secondary role again.
According to him, any attempt to field Obi as a running mate to another candidate would be politically unrealistic and unacceptable to his supporters.
The political commentator also warned that the (ADC) could suffer a major electoral setback if it chooses a northern candidate such as Atiku Abubakar or any other northerner as its presidential flag bearer.
He maintained that the political dynamics ahead of the 2027 elections favour a different strategic direction, adding that presenting a northern candidate under the party’s platform could lead to a “woeful defeat” at the polls.
Udenta’s remarks come amid ongoing political realignments and speculations about possible alliances and ticket configurations as political actors begin positioning themselves ahead of Nigeria’s next presidential election cycle.
