Nigerian media personality Ifedayo Olarinde, popularly known as Daddy Freeze, has advised Ayo Labinjoh, the mother of Anu Adeleke, to concentrate on raising her daughter amid the ongoing DNA controversy involving award-winning singer Davido.
In a video commentary, Daddy Freeze disclosed that he had seen one of the DNA test results related to the dispute and claimed it indicated that Davido was not Anu’s biological father. In response, Labinjoh released images of a DNA test allegedly conducted in 2014, which she described as fake, stating that no swab was taken and that only blood samples were used during the process.
Labinjoh further maintained that Davido’s father selected the hospital and paid for the test. She also accused the singer of failing to release five DNA test results he had previously promised to make public.
Addressing the matter, Daddy Freeze urged Labinjoh to take full responsibility for her child’s upbringing rather than depending on Davido. He questioned whether she would have hesitated to raise the child alone if the alleged father were deceased or incapacitated, adding that ensuring Anu’s success in life should be her primary focus.
According to him, the best way forward—and a form of closure for the mother—is to invest in her daughter’s future without waiting for Davido’s involvement. He also cautioned Labinjoh against continuing to air the dispute on social media, stressing that no individual can be compelled to undergo a DNA test.
Daddy Freeze warned that the singer could pursue legal action for harassment, which could result in a restraining order. He advised Labinjoh to seek professional legal counsel from respected senior advocates, such as Femi Falana or Afe Babalola, noting that they could potentially offer pro bono assistance.
Explaining his stance, Daddy Freeze said Labinjoh was like a daughter to him due to his relationship with her late father, who he described as his former lecturer. He encouraged her to act with dignity, focus on her child’s growth, and move on from the public dispute, adding that her earlier admission of having the child from a casual encounter did not reflect positively on her or the child.
He concluded by reiterating that Anu’s future success should be Labinjoh’s priority, urging her to take the matter off social media and channel her energy into building a stable and prosperous life for her daughter.
